Writing Big Numbers


Can you write this number in digits and/or in standard notation (as a number times 10 to the power of something)?

    1 billion = 1,000,000,000 so
    1 billion billion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
    = 1 x 10 to the power of 18

    mega Watt = 10 to the power of 6 watts so

    Ans. = 3.68 x 10 to the power of 26 Watts

    It is a tragedy that we have adopted the American version of a billion as the international standard. What was wrong with a billion being a million million?
